I was trying to think of a good weekly feature, so I came up with Excellent e-Books Wednesday. Every Wednesday, I’ll share with my book loving readers some of my favorite e-books.

Non-Fiction

Hear Through My Ears by Tara Chevrestt is a moving memoir about what it’s like to deal with being hearing impaired. “Follow her stories as she recounts everything from childhood bullies to work related restrictions and funny misunderstandings from mispronounced words to fear of Federal Air Marshals. In this tale, straight from the heart, hear through her ears and find out what it’s like to face adversity and rise above it.”

Writing Wild: Crafting the Pagan Memoir by T.J. Burns is a wonderful tool geared toward those of alternative faiths who wish to write a memoir about their lives or experiences.

The Blue Cascade: A Memoir of Life after War by Mike Scotti is another truly moving memoir. It provides a great insight into what it’s like to return to the “normal” world after being at war.

Fiction

Where The Heart Left Off by Richie Frieman is a wonderful romance novel fans of Nicholas Sparks will love. For a limited time, it’s only $1.99 on Kindle.

Pacifically You by Christie A.C. Gucker is a fun, romantic romp into the world of marine biology. In case you didn’t think it was possible, don’t take my word for it: read the book!

Stag Hunt by Laura DeLuca is currently FREE for download. Can’t get much better than that. I have yet to read this one, but I’ve read Ms. DeLuca’s work in the past, and she’s a wonderful writer.

Morrigan, also by Laura DeLuca, is a personal favorite. Fantasy lovers will enjoy this multi-layered novel.

NY Times Top Three in Non-Fiction

Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand is a book about World War II that needs no introduction. It’s been very popular for quite some time now, but I have yet to read it. It’s on my list!

Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back by Todd Burpo is a true story about a child who left his body and visited Heaven. I did not read the adult version of this story, but I read the accompanying children’s book, and it is quite moving.

The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics by Daniel James Brown looks like another fascinating read. I really want to check this one out when I have time.

NY Times Top Three in Fiction

Fifty Shades of Grey: Book One of the Fifty Shades Trilogy by E.L. James is not a book I enjoyed. When I pick up a book, if I don’t like it, I cannot finish it. I couldn’t finish this one. Period. But the book is currently number one on the NY Times Bestseller List.

A Perfect Life: A Novel by Danielle Steel is number two on the list. I have not read this one. But if you have, tell us what you thought by leaving a comment!

The third on the list is the entire Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy. I think a lot of writers probably wish they were Ms. James right about now!
