Relaxation is key

A lot has been going through my mind lately. All of it messy, confusing– human. We live such fascinating, full lives. But it’s important to remember to relax. I enjoyed a lovely yoga class this evening, the first in a long time, and I’m trying to get back into my regular running meditation.

I want bliss again.

Enjoying a beautiful day.

Enjoying a beautiful day.

As I drove home, I felt totally at peace and enjoyed the sounds of the evening around me. Nightlife whispering in the brush, the scrub at the side of the road. The usual sounds of the streets as I piloted through civilization. My mouth felt slack, my body free of tension. I remembered my yoga teacher in high school, and how she talked about relaxing the jaw, letting the tongue gently touch the roof of the mouth. And it occurred to me that I’m often clenching my teeth– just like my father did. He was always grinding his teeth, and it was audible, but until someone else pointed it out he didn’t really think about it. My father died of a stroke, and I don’t want tension and worry to build up inside me until it implodes.

Getting back to my path. Getting back to being in touch with the universe around me, the spirit world that’s always within my reach. I’m so much more in tune with it when I meditate, when I do yoga, when I run. It feels good.

Relaxation is key. Give yourself some time to just Be. You’ll be amazed by the results.
