My cat, Petunia, spilled beer on my laptop. Not too much. Less than half. But still, this cat has a problem. And something tells me she doesn’t like Mac products.

Cleaning beneath the keys is delicate work, because one of the plastic pieces could break.

This shows the plastic pieces beneath the key which help the key move up and down.

I was particularly concerned because it’s the nicest computer I’ve ever had. My keys were sticking, especially the space bar, but I think everything I did to prevent the liquid from leaking deeper– such as flipping the computer over as soon as it happened –helped matters considerably.

This tail of woe didn’t end so badly after all. A friend of mine put it nicely: “Cats are the reason why we can’t have nice things.” Amen. But I gotta love these fuzzy little creatures, despite everything. They are my children! Furry, four-legged children.
